Former IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby has retired from boxing.
The Welshman who left the sport won 28 matches, lost 4 with 9 wins in the gap.
The 35-year-old had her last match in Argentina, losing to Gustavo Lemos in the IBF lightweight final elimination. After a positive start, Lemos began to close the gap and his relentless aggression and power ended the match in the 5th inning.
“After 27 years of boxing, it’s time to drop the gloves.
Today, on social media, Selby announced her decision to end her 14-year professional career.
“Welsh, Celtic, British, Commonwealth, European & IBF World Champion.
“I exit the ring with no regrets, happy, healthy and financially secure family.
“Thank you for all your support.”
