Just as some people consider Ansel Adams their inspiration even though they don’t know who he is or what he did, many will tell you that your works should always follow the rule technique. one third. That’s because it’s so popularly known and followed. Indeed, most cameras, including smartphones, even have a grid setting that follows the rule of thirds that you can toggle on and off: three horizontal rows, three vertical columns, four intersection points and foreground, center and background. Remember the factors you are interested in using these guides and play bingo, you will have a great shot. But we all know that rules are meant to be broken, too.
And that brings us to this amazing video by Henry Turner, in which he takes us into some of the most beautiful forests in the UK and shows us that you don’t always have to follow the rules. one-third stopper. In fact, he went so far as to completely eliminate the use of any foreground element in the waterfall shot, and it comes out beautifully. Why did he do that? Because sometimes the foreground gives us nothing. It really is as simple as that. Instead of forcing yourself to follow the rules, you need to take what’s in front of you and work with what you have.
