Fixing Proton spare parts shortage – crash repair and fast moving parts will be in stock at the end of June

Earlier this month, Proton announced that it had implemented a mandatory requirement that all of its dealers will be required to have at least three months holding stock of 22 fast moving parts. The move is intended to address a shortage of spare parts for both scheduled maintenance and accident repair, which has caused quite a bit of customer dissatisfaction.

A timeline for this fix has now emerged. Talking to paultan.org Last week, Proton Deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah indicates that the company is making plans to make sure that the problem of missing parts is solved.

The results of these will be seen in the next few months, with the company aiming to have a sufficient stock of fast-moving parts by the end of June. Roslan said: “What we determine by volume Full inventory means three months in stock at our dealers, three months in stock at our warehouse, and a certain monthly quantity at our suppliers.”

This will hopefully end a long term problem faced with the automaker, where it was previously reported that some customer cars were still stuck at official service centers waiting for parts or only partially serviced, with some parts available to be fitted before the owner asked for a return after the rest of the parts were in stock.

As for the replacement parts needed to repair the accident, Roslan said this will also follow the same timeline. “As for the repair parts, we are looking at (in stock) three months from now. We are identifying what are the key replacement parts to fix the problem and identifying suppliers who can build these for us,” he explains.
