Over the years, Firefox has always been my go-to browser for a higher level of security on the desktop. While it may not offer the same level of security and anonymity found in the Tor Browser, it doesn’t slow down the network, which Tor often does, and it’s certainly not as secure as Chrome.

One of the features that make Firefox more More secure than other browsers called Total cookie protection. This feature was added to the open source browser a while ago and has done a great job of protecting me from cookies.

What is Comprehensive Cookie Protection? It essentially creates what Mozilla calls a “cookie box” for every website you visit. When you visit a website that includes third-party content that would normally put a cookie in your browser, Firefox will limit that cookie to that site’s cookie jar. This way, none of the website’s cookies can interact with another website, to prevent the cookie from reading other cookies from other websites. This greatly reduces the amount of information a company can potentially collect from you. And that, my friends, is a good thing.

Total Cookie Protection is enabled by default on the desktop Firefox browser. You can turn this off from within Settings > Privacy & Security > Customizations, but I don’t recommend doing so because it does a great job of protecting against cross-site tracking. web and collect information.

No one should allow such tracking through their desktop web browser and now you don’t have to worry about it on your mobile as Mozilla has added Total Cookie Protection to the Android version of the browser.

If you ever needed a reason to move away from the Chrome browser on Android, now you have it. With the addition of Total Cookie Protection on the Android version of Firefox, you can finally enjoy the same level of protection as on the desktop.

Even better, just like on the desktop, Total Cookie Protection is enabled by default on the Android version of Firefox. The only thing you need to do is install an open source web browser on your device. Since this is done from the Google Play Store, it is not only simple, but also secure.

If you already have Firefox installed on your device, you should immediately go to the Google Play Store and check if there are any updates available for this browser. You want to make sure you’re using at least version 110.1.0.

How to locate Firefox version on your device

The first thing to do is open the Firefox web browser on your Android device.

Tap the three-dot menu button in the bottom right corner of your browser.

If the button isn’t in the bottom right corner, it might be in the top right corner (depending on how you’ve configured Firefox). From the pop-up menu, tap Settings.

Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and tap About Firefox. In the results page you will see the version number. If it’s version 110.1.0 or later, Comprehensive Cookie Protection is there and protects you from crawling between sites.

Even if you don’t notice such things, it is important for you to understand how important it is to protect cross-site cookies. If you value your privacy and security, I highly recommend switching from Chrome as your default Android browser to Firefox.

Total Cookie Protection takes it very seriously about keeping you safe from third parties that use (and abuse) information about you through your mobile web browser.
