FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will have women’s soccer, but no new features
Nintendo Switch players have once again been shot in the leg (ball), as EA announced today that FIFA 23 on Switch will again be “Legacy Edition”, which is basically the same as FIFA 22 on Switch.
In EA’s own words, the word eShop page for FIFA 23:
FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will have the same Gameplay features and modes from FIFA 22 Legacy Edition without any new developments or significant improvements.
At least they don’t sugarcoat it, we suppose.
New content for FIFA 23, which is little more than that, will include new kits, clubs and teams, a few new stadiums, “updated visual identity” and a “rendered broadcast overlay pack.” new”, as well as the addition of Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
The features back from FIFA 22 are as follows:
• Begin
• Career mode
• Tournaments – Licensed and Custom, including UEFA Champions League
• Women’s International Cup
• Skill Games
• Online & Friendly Section
• Local section
Other platforms will get new features like cross-play, refreshed mechanics, realistic physics, and an improved Chemistry system. Switch will not receive these. Here’s the trailer so you can check out what you’ll be missing:
