July 29, 2022 is National Lipstick Day in the US, but that hasn’t stopped Square Enix from sharing some funny question on official Final Fantasy VII Remake account. Today’s topic is the Shinra executive and the one known to wear lipstick, Scarlet.
The official account shared some of Scarlet’s concept art from FFVII Redo. As the head of Shinra’s Weapons Development department, Scarlet joined FFVII remake in a small role. However, she takes center stage when Interleaved updates are scrolled around. She is the main antagonist of the Yuffie-centered “Episode INTERmission” storyline. She used her resources to confront Yuffie and Sonon, and their clash broadened the player’s view of the Shinra and Wutai conflict.

The FFVII remake Scarlet Lipstick Day’s post includes concept art of the character and an in-game shot. It also introduces concepts for the Crimson Mare, Scarlet’s personal battle armor. According to the tweet, the Crimson Mare’s cockpit is custom-decorated and features special compartments for Scarlet’s lipstick and cosmetics. However, they are not seen in the game.
Crimson Mare forms the core of the boss battle with Scarlet in FFVII remake COMMUNICATION COLLECTION. In the original Final Fantasy VII released, Scarlet only sees combat at the end of the game. She and Shinra’s colleague, Heidegger, piloted the Proud Clod, a battle robot of Shinra, to fight the party.
