Fallout 4 Almost Has A “Bioshock-Style” Underwater Vault
One of my favorite things about Fall out The series is finding out what weird and wonderful experiments took place in its vault. There’s one where people live in a VR simulation, another cryosleep experiment, as well as a place where a cheetah is set free. Even so, the developers had more plans for these bomb-proof bunkers. Bethesda director Todd Howard revealed last night that Fallout 4 there’s almost an underwater vault with a giant octopus, which sounds a bit scary.
Is a part of Reddit Q&A To celebrate Skyrim’s 10th anniversary, Howard was asked many questions that of course had nothing to do with Skyrim. One user asked if anything is planned for an underwater vault cut in Fallout 4. Howard revealed that it will be a “BioShock-style vault” with “a giant sentient octopus living outside of it.”
That would be awesome to explore! Wandering through creaking, leaky metal tunnels and battling an overgrown squid sounds like my party. I hope Bethesda keeps these ideas for Fallouts in the future.
Elsewhere in the Q&A, Howard talks about what’s going to happen in Fallout if they don’t have the rights to Fallout. “It’s called ‘Apocalypse Road’ and has a great symbolism with street signs,” he said. I’m glad they got those rights.
He also talks a bit about The Elder Scrolls 6 – nothing too exciting, I’m afraid, just his step son is tired of waiting for it too. Howard says he received a Father’s Day card that read: “You’re a great dad, but where’s TES6?”
In other Bethesda news, Skyrim: Anniversary Edition comes today, adding new aquariums, quests and more to the fantasy RPG. Premium Edition owners also get a number of free bonuses, including the ability to fish.
