After heavy rain overnight and throughout the morning, and after consultation between the track management and the managers, a joint decision was made to cancel the December 30 pass at Fair Grounds Racecourse & Slots.
About 2 1/4 inches of rain fell at midday at New Orleans Lakefront Airport, according to the National Weather Service.
The live race is scheduled to resume on Saturday, December 31, with the usual posting time of 1:15 p.m. CT. The 10 Race Card features a quad that includes a $100,000 Woodchopper Bet, a $100,000 Pago Hop Bet and a pair of $100,000 Louisiana Futures.
