Formula 1 needs a lot of steps to make sure that the rules are followed in a race weekend. Any driver found to have caused a collision, misdirected, or violated the rules in any other way may be fined. In F1, These penalties may include fines, time penalties and even points added to a driver’s license.
But the license to which these points are added is not exactly the same as mine or yours. This is the FIA Super Licenseis a piece of paper that shows a driver is qualified to compete in Formula 1.
The license acts as a record of the driver’s abilities, as well as a reminder of their misdeeds on the track. F1 Drivers may receive penalty points for colliding with another rider, cutting corners or exceeding the track limit during the race. If they collect 12 of these points in a 12-month period, they will be banned from competing in a race.
So far, only one driver on the current grid has hit double-digit penalty points and more than 13 drivers on grid 2023 have at least one point on their license. That means only six people sat there safely without names: Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri, Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hülkenberg, Nyck de Vries and Logan Sargeant.
