Employers need to invest more in the advanced analytics and collaboration technologies needed to keep remote workforces engaged.

A new study on employee morale and motivation after the pandemic shows that while 97% of business leaders think a mixed work environment won’t affect corporate culture long-term, there are negative consequences when too many people work remotely.

Unsurprisingly, business leaders who see improved business performance during the pandemic are more likely to view new technologies favorably.

Nearly two-thirds (62%) of respondents said hybrid work arrangements will continue into the next year, 24% said they expect mostly remote work, and just 13% expect mostly remote work. work in the office.

Challenges in combined work

One of the main challenges for remote employees is maintaining normal interactions with other co-workers. During the pandemic, 91% of respondents said most employee interactions have shifted towards problem solving and away from socialization.

“When [Genpact] moved to remote work in the early days of the pandemic, while formal collaboration continued thanks to collaboration tools and video conferencing, it became clear very quickly that weak relationships, done through casual meetings around the office, is far more valuable than anyone with Sanjay Srivastava, said Genpact chief digital strategist.

Relationships between managers and those they supervise are also negatively affected in 42% of organizations. This dynamic hinders the growth of future leaders, the report says.

Another challenge 48% of employers say they face due to hybrid and remote work arrangements is integrating new employees into the organization.

“Technology can play an important role in supporting a hybrid environment that works for both employees and customers, while delivering long-term success for businesses and individuals,” said Tyagarajan.

Demand for better technology to measure sentiment

Even so, when it comes to measuring employee engagement, surveys are still the number one tool used by most respondents (45%), and wellness options like Headspace and self-help tools are still the most popular.
