SpaceX’s Starlink Internet Service Is Available In Ukraine And More Terminals Are Being Sent To The Country, According To The Company’s CEO Elon Musk.

The conflict-affected nation has seen internet disruptions as Russian troops advance and missiles hit critical infrastructure. The NetBlocks monitoring group said on Thursday that the disruption was being watched over much of Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv.

On Saturday, Musk was asked by a Ukrainian government official if he would supply more of his company’s Starlink stations to the country.

“While you try to colonize Mars – Russia tries to take Ukraine! While your rocket successfully lands from space – Russian rocket attacks the people of Ukraine! We ask you to provide give Ukraine Starlink stations and let the Russians stand,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and minister of digital transformation.

Musk replied late Saturday via Twitter that: “Starlink service is now up and running in Ukraine. More stations on the way.”

Starlink ultimately wants to give the world faster internet, starting by improving internet access in parts of the world that aren’t currently offered by broadband providers.

It allows people to connect to the internet through a satellite dish placed on or near one’s property. The Internet is transmitted down to the disk via a network of Starlink satellites that have been put into orbit by SpaceX and ground stations.
