Election Day 2022: How to get a discount and free ride to vote

It’s time to go out and vote in the 2022 midterm elections, to be held on Tuesday, November 8.

While this isn’t a presidential election year, these midterm races – with a focus on local races and congressional and congressional seats – will affect the entire country. The ideological balance of the Senate and House may change once the vote is complete.

That’s why every voter needs to be able to go to their polling place and cast their vote. However, in 2016, studies showed that more than 15 million eligible voters said they didn’t vote, mainly because they couldn’t get to the polls.

If you don’t have transportation, you can still do your civic duty and vote at your local polling place.

Some organizations and ride-hailing companies will offer free or highly discounted lifts to polls. Here’s how to find them and what you can expect.

Find a volunteer to drive you for free

If you don’t have a car or don’t have easy public transportation, several organizations are available to help. Rideshare2Vote help voters in need ride to their local polling facilities for free. The organization’s slogan is “Everyone deserves to have their voices heard.”

Ridshare2Vote is available in nine states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia.

If you live in one of these states and have a car, you can also volunteer to drive others to the polls.
