Editors’ Choice January 2022 | Ford Maverick, Jeep Grand Cherokee and more
This month, we’ve given out Editors’ Choice awards to several new, completely redesigned models. The most notable in the group is 2022 Ford Maverick. Ford took a chance on a new segment, and its execution was almost as flawless as we could have hoped. The Hyundai Santa Cruz was a worthy competitor, however, and was Also named Editor’s Pick. Also on this list we have a redesign Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s a great SUV and it only gets better when 4xe plug-in hybrid model touch the roads.
In case you missed our Previous Editor’s Choice article, here’s a quick update on what’s going on here. We rate all new cars we drive with a score of 1-10. Typical cars in their respective segments will receive Editors’ Choice status. Those are the ones we would recommend to friends, family, and anyone curious and asking questions. The list you’ll find below includes every car we ranked in January that earned our Editors’ Choice.
2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Quick hands: Jeep’s midsize SUV makes its debut with the latest generation. We might see some powertrain innovations, but Grand Cherokee’s The premium recommendation is the sound.

2022 Ford Maverick
Quick hands: The Ford Maverick offers great value, efficiency, extremely thoughtful packaging, plenty of storage, a drive that is quite attractive and easy to use, all with the utility of a pickup truck. We like the hybrid, but the EcoBoost engine and FX4 package offer more possibilities.

Quick hands: Great looks, an attractive interior design, good handling and excellent fuel economy make A3 a great entry level luxury sedan. Plus, they’re all available for a respectable price.
