EdisonFuture hopes to build electric pickup trucks by 2025

In Los Angeles Auto Show, tram manufacturing hopeful EdisonFuture has launched its first two products as concept sheet metal, the EF1-T and EF1-V pickup trucks. commercial truck. This week, we learned that the startup hopes to start delivering vehicles in 2025.

We’re not sure if these came from Icona’s pens; EdisonFuture did not mention the designer’s involvement which ostensibly is cooperate. Who is in charge likes long, straight lines without decoration. Electrek report that the pickup is 243 inches long. We’re not sure if that’s with the standard 6.5 foot bed or the optional 8-foot bed, but with the standard bed, the EF1-T will be about 11 inches longer than the most recent version of the EF1-T. Tesla Cybertruckand four inches longer than the short wheelbase Ford F-350 Super Cab with 6.75 foot high bed. The plain gray exterior is decorated solely from the angled headlights and taillights; even the doorknob flushed. Fancy rims and chunky wheels on the concept version vans keeps it from looking like a piece of equipment, while the steel on the van makes it look like the device it was intended for.

EdisonFuture plans to deliver the truck in three installments. Standard will come with 120 kWh the battery Powering a single motor is good for 440 horsepower, estimated range of 300 miles and 7,500 pounds sled capacity. This car is designed to hit 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. A high-end EF1-T packs a 150 kWh battery, adds a second motor for a total of 690 horses, brings range to 380 miles and towing capacity to 9,000 pounds, and reduces the light dash to 4.5 seconds. The Top-dog Super uses a 180 kWh battery, adds a third motor for a total of 816 hp, increases the range to 450 miles and towing capacity to 11,000 pounds, and reaches 60 mph in 3, 9 seconds. The payload capacity for all three is 3,000 pounds.

When there is no payload, the driver can extend an optional bed cover that can be fitted with solar panels. Instead of a ton of deployment tools, a series of concentric arcs slid out from the back of the cab, creating a turtle-like shape for the greenhouse from back door to back door. It looks neat, but the bows seem to eat up a large portion of the vertical bed space when stowed.

The company showcases its solar panel options for pickups and vans, with photovoltaic panels lining the roof, bed sheets, and even a panel on the pickup. Under ideal conditions, the panels are said to be able to add a range of 25 to 35 miles, which sounds optimistic.

This truck has a cargo capacity of 260 to 400 cubic feet, but EdisonFuture didn’t explain whether the difference was due to the wheelbase or something else. There are only two powertrain options here, either the Standard single-engine and the Long Range dual-engine.

The company has rendered the interior with a 17.5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment and dual seven-inch screens for capturing information from the side cameras. However, we have announced that the production versions, targeted for 2025, will change based on customer feedback. In a fresh way, EdisonFuture isn’t talking about massive production goals, at least not yet. It seems the company just wants to add more options to the products it already produces with Phoenix Motorcars. Marketing Director Jose Paul Plackal said, “The electric vehicle space is growing at a rapid pace, so there is an opportunity for many OEMs to meet demand. Since our primary goal is EV adoption, we only offer complementary options. A unique, stylish and complete addition with features and specification creates a unique value proposition for drivers.”

In 2019, SPI – a Chinese renewable energy company founded in 2016, based in Hong Kong with North American headquarters in California – announced it would sell pickup truck and last-mile delivery vans under the Phoenix Motorcars label (a California subsidiary that makes electric class 4 buses and trucks) and a new consumer joint venture called EdisonFuture – not to be confused with here-and-go French company Edison Destiny since 2016.
