Dreamebot’s self-emptying robot comes with a dream price

I’m not quite ready for robots to take over my house completely, but they’ve mastered the job of vacuuming now. The robot vacuum has been on my floors for many years and has now perfected its ability to vacuum, sweep, map and now even empty itself to get the job done with very little interaction. human work.

Back in 2018, I tested a Roborock S5 and found it to be an amazing vacuum robot. After activating the Mi Home app required for this new control DreameBot D10 Plus, it’s nice to see that the Roborock S5 and S6 are still on my profile. It is interesting to see that the Dreametech robots are now part of the Xiaomi organization, which means that much of what I love about the S5 is found in the D10 Plus.

In fact, the DreameBot D10 Plus behaves more like a $1,000 vacuum than a $400 vacuum, making it a very appealing option for those looking for a realistic vacuum experience.

Hardware and box contents

The box in which the vacuum and the self-emptying base are shipped is quite large as the base is capable of holding dust that is vacuumed for up to 45 days. Includes an extra dust bag for the self-emptying base, plus a mop pad, water tank, and cleaning tool. The cleaning tool is the same as the one we saw above Roborock S5 and S6, with a blade and brush edge to remove hair and debris on the main and auxiliary brushes.

The DreameBot D10 Plus shares the same external features as the Roborocks, with a raised laser distance sensor (LDS), circular form factor, and a side brush. A similar trash can design is found under the front cover. The round button cluster has two LED lights for the power button and the home button. Both are equally accessible when the lid is open or closed.

At the bottom we have two large main wheels with solid silicone tire treads that won’t scratch your wood or tile floors. There is a main brush, a side brush and an omnidirectional wheel. The charging contacts are also located at the bottom.

The newest feature of the DreameBot D10 Plus is the self-emptying base. After each cleaning, the vacuum automatically returns to the base, where the charging connectors meet to charge the vacuum. At your specified interval or at the end of each vacuum, the base vacuums the dustbin. This is effectively achieved by the dual-channel suction mechanism; Dust and debris from one side of the vacuum is sucked in, while the other side pushes fresh air into the bin. All dust eventually enters the 2.5L empty emptying base. This is a much cleaner and more hygienic process than manually emptying the trash can and letting the dust fly all over the place.

The LiDAR sensor on the top of the vacuum can quickly and accurately map your entire floor, so the robot knows where to clean and what objects to avoid. Multiple suction levels can also be enabled, so you can switch between a quiet cleaning experience and a larger but more efficient suction level. However, even at higher suction levels, I found the vacuum to have a reasonable volume level.

Smartphone software

The Mi Home app is used to manage the vacuum, and it is also used for a variety of other mobile technologies, including electric motorcycle, door bell, lamphome sensor and air handling system. For the DreameBot D10 Plus, the app presents a series of vacuum-specific controls, including the aforementioned suction modes.

The home page shows you your cleaning area, the typical run time for that area, and the battery charge status. To start a session, you can simply hit the play button, sit back and watch the little robot at work. There is an option to choose which part of the house you want the robot to clean, from a single room to everything to a specific area.

There are many other settings available in the app, including cleaning mode, voice and volume, scheduling, location ping, and firmware update management. Voice control via Amazon Alexa are also supported, so you can really use your bare feet hands-free.

Wipe with DreameBot

For a great cleaning experience, I recommend attaching the included mop attachment and water tank to the DreameBot vacuum cleaner. The 150mL water tank is easy to use, and the three water volume levels via the app allow you to control how much moisture you want the mop to be when combing through your floor. Our hardwood floors look amazing after a dusting cycle.

Unlike some more expensive vacuums, the water tank on the robot must be filled and cleaned manually. For the auto-vacuum system, the span can be set to one, two or three times the robot vacuum.

Generally, the vacuum’s battery is rated for 150 minutes of runtime, which can cover a large home or office space. If the pin doesn’t need to be recharged, it will return to the charging dock, recharge, and pick up where it left off.

I continue to be amazed by the reliability and efficiency of the DreameBot D10 Plus. The amount of pet hair and dust the robot can pick up is phenomenal, and the self-cleaning feature is a feature I would no longer be able to do without.

The older vacuums I’ve tested have always been a chore, which affects the robot’s convenience and fairness. With its self-emptying base, precise mapping, and reliable performance, the D10 Plus is an easy recommendation for me. Prices are very reasonable, especially at the low end $400 Amazon price point.
