I really consider hosting as a hobby. Entertainment is the intersection of my love for design, food, style and people. When I think about how I want to spend my time, being with great friends and delicious food in a beautiful setting is on my list.
All that said, I thought it would be fun to consider what my dream dinner party would look like — a soirée party that’s completely undisputed. If you’re too much into entertaining and being with other people, this should be a nice reminder to ask yourself!
Here’s a glimpse of what my dream dinner party would look like…
Where will it be held?
It will be outside the US! The first place that comes to mind is Portofino. The view will be outside, overlooking the sea. It will smell like beach, fire, salt and citrus.
Who will be invited?
I don’t have anyone in particular in mind! I wanted to put together a group of eight really interesting people, each with their own unique skills or passions, whether it’s cooking, creating art, writing, or something completely different. other. Joe will be there too, along with one of our best friends.
What food will be served?
This dinner is by no means extravagant (aside from the seaside setting). It’s about really great conversation and delicious, simple food cooked so well. In a way, seafood will be relevant, especially oysters. There will be an uncomplicated dessert and maybe a pot or cigar at the end of the night.
What about drinks?
I wanted to start the occasion with a special cocktail — one that highlights local ingredients or simply blends well with the evening’s atmosphere. I love the idea of a Negroni Bianco or some herbal aperitif cocktail. At dinner, I would love to be served a wonderful, delightful wine. For now, I really like Slovenian red or orange wines with a slight sweetness.
What are you going to wear?
I’ll stay in something long and floral but still a little snug — maybe something like this!
What will the decoration be like?
The table setting will be very comfortable and simple yet elegant. There will be soft linens, beautiful plates and heavy silverware. For curious minds, I’ve saved some of my favorite decor inspiration images in Pinterest Board Dinner Party!
What is the schedule for the evening?
The group would meet for a drink first, then sit down to a leisurely dinner, then play a game afterwards. I like a good game about TableTopics!
