Dragon Ball: The Breakers Looks Like Dead By Daylight Meets Prop Hunt
Today, Bandai Namco announced Dragon Ball: The Breakers, perhaps the most confusing game to be revealed this year. It’s a 7v1 survival horror game where a group of players must escape a “raider” using all sorts of weird and wonderful abilities. Like Dead By Daylight meets Prop Hunt. Honestly, when I first saw the trailer, I was convinced they were going to put Cell in Dead By Daylight. Like, why not?
So you have seven survivors who are basically running for their lives from an evil villain in Dragon Ball. It was just like what I imagined for the commoners when all those guys were using their superpowers to destroy cities.
So far, playable gamers include Cell, Buu, and Frieza, and a press release tells me their goal is to “wipe out” the poor souls trapped in their duel with them. . Survivors can avoid that fate by using their powers to jump into vehicles, transform into inanimate objects, spawn weapons, and eventually escape (in UFO-like teleportation, from the introduction). It’s not clear if you can kill the bandit. That little pig guy shoots a rocket that can slow them down? Who knows!
“The Dragon Ball series has been a global fan favorite for over 37 years, and Dragon Ball: The Breakers takes the classic top-notch action formula and offers an innovative twist with online survival gameplay.” , Bandai brand and marketing director Lin Leng said. Honestly, I’d love for them to lean into that overkill, which looks like a proper wacky fun.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers is coming to PC via Steam, as well as Nintendo Switch, PlayStations, and Xboxes sometime in 2022. A closed beta test is also “coming soon” on PC, and Bandai will have more details on that. that in the future.
