Doro gets promoted to Racing Director at Delaware Park
Jerome “Jed” Doro has been promoted to Racing Director at Delaware Park effective Sunday, August 1. He will take over most of the duties of longtime Racing CEO John Mooney, who recently announced his retirement.
Doro, 43, was the Racing Secretary at Delaware Park from 2014 to 2018. The native Bemidji, Minnesota, left briefly to take up a position at Oaklawn Park in 2019, but returned to Delaware Park. in 2020 as Assistant Secretary of Racing before being elevated to Minister of Racing again in 2021. He was also an Assistant Secretary of Racing at Delaware Park from 2008 to 2013.
Kevin DeLucia, Chief Financial Officer at Delaware Park said: “I am delighted and delighted to announce that Jed Doro has been promoted to Racing Director. “We believe the continuity of the program built by John is critical to the future success of the race at Delaware Park, and we believe there is no better person to accomplish that goal. . He brings a level of knowledge and experience not only in racing but also racing in the indispensable Mid-Atlantic region and Delaware Parks.”
Doro has also worked in various capacities at the Maryland Jockey Club, Colonial Downs and Timonium Racecourse.
