“We did a great job this year. Three races before the end, we won the world championship for the second time. We also won the MotoE title. We’ve had 15 race wins, 17 podiums and my worst performance this season is fourth place.
“We have achieved really great things this season, many records, but our goal is to fight for the championship. We had a 60+ point advantage in the middle of the season and then someone knocked me down, one small mistake and we were down by five points. We fought back until we got 72 points and now, three races before the end, we win the championship.
“It is a great achievement. That is not possible alone; we are a big family and the team helped me do this. We had a great season. For me, a second dream come true to be a World Champion again.
“I want to dedicate this championship to my family, to my friends, to all the sponsors, to the Ten Kate Racing team and to Yamaha. They got me there and I hope, next year, we can continue in a good way.
