A German Sheperd named Tinsley is said to have saved the lives of her owner and her friend after they were involved in a fatal car crash in Vermont.
According to a release from Vermont State Police DepartmentTinsley’s owner, Cameron Laundry, 31, was driving while intoxicated when he hit the railing and overturned the truck, overturning the entire vehicle and ejecting the passengers.
Miraculously, Tinsel survived and started running down the street, seemingly looking for help!
As shared in a Facebook post of the New Hampshire State Police, officers responded to a report of a loose canine. When they reached the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Interstate 89, they found German Sheperd and it looked like she was trying to get their attention.
In an interview with Fox 13, Lieutenant Daniel Baldassarre said, “The dog was trying to show them something. [She] Keep trying to get rid of them but don’t run away completely. It’s like, ‘Follow me. Follow me.'”
Officers tracked down the dog and were shocked to discover that the guardrail and total vehicle were damaged! Tinsel immediately ran down to lie down with her owner, who had been ejected from the car and was lying on the snow.
Both Laundry and his passenger were near the vehicle and were seriously injured, but thanks to Tinsel, they were able to get the help they needed.
Sadly, the passenger had a pitbull on board, who was found dead the next day. Laundry recovered from the incident and was able to return home, but the passenger remains in the hospital with serious injuries.
Laundry is grateful to her dog for potentially saving his life and plans to give her a great meal to celebrate!
According to the police department Press Release, Laundry faces the court on February 15, 2022 to answer about the DUI’s allegation, as well as other pending charges related to the case.
