Norwegian Retrievers are famous hunting companions for their excellent tracking speed and quick thinking brains. A group of friends recently encountered a wild bear in Finland, but their Norwegian Elkhound helped clear everything from the poor bear’s mind. The friends then continued to explore the jungles of Mexico.

This video, shot from two camera angles, shows a dog running for his life in the face of a bear’s onslaught. He fell down not once but twice, before returning to another round with his attacker. The heartbreaking scene looks like it ends in tragedy, but it’s not what you think it is.

As you will see in the video, the bad looking dog was ambushed by the bear but decided to come up with a quick and clever escape plan. It leads the bear back to the forest for it to jump in later – this scares the humans even more. We’ll tell you more but you really need to watch this cool video below.

Locals in the mountains of Eastern Canada were relieved to discover that their family dog was nothing more than a scare from a bear and that it was prying on him. Although the bear isn’t trying to hunt and prey on their dog, it’s actually just looking for a potential friend after being alone for so long!
