Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept Upgraded for SEMA

If there is a notice that Avoid has been consistently trying to strengthen over the past few decades, it’s one of those muscles. From the rebirth of the Hemi engine to the new birth of the current Hellcat-branded apogee, Stellantis has clearly positioned Dodge as the preeminent power broker in the United States. And that’s not likely to change when Dodge makes the switch from petrol to electric, as evidenced by Concept of the Daytona SRT . charger bowed during the summer. Dodge is still tweaking quite a few things about the concept, from color from the retro-inspired interior and exterior to the sound of the Fratzonic Chambered exhaust system. The latest iteration is out this week at SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The most noticeable change to Charger The Daytona SRT Concept has an exterior color of Stryker Red. But while we appreciate the color shift, it’s far more important to announce a “ladder” approach to electrified power levels. First, keep in mind that Dodge is calling these “nine possible powertrain outputs for an all-electric muscle car concept,” so they shouldn’t be taken as final numbers. But Dodge has committed to displaying three levels of electrical power at SEMA. The first two are based on a 400 volt system with an output level of 340 kilowatts (456 hp) and 440 kilowatts (590 hp). The third level is the “unannounced, factory-delivered” 800-volt SRT Banshee powertrain package. Maybe it’s a coincidence that the 340 and 440 are two versions of the classic Dodge muscle car engine, but that’s probably not the case.

Those are the base wattages, and Dodge plans to offer upgrades thanks to its in-house Direct Connect feature. after-sales arm. Two so-called eStages are suggested for the 340 kW model, bringing power to 370 kW (495 hp) or 400 kW (535 hp). The 440 kW level comes in power units of 470 kW (630 hp) and 500 kW (670 hp). Each eStage includes a “crystal” key that plugs into the dashboard and is tied to the vehicle’s VIN, allowing for extra power.

You’ll note that Dodge isn’t talking horsepower for its highest levels of electrical performance. The 800-volt SRT Banshee powertrain package will indeed offer Direct Connect upgrades, as demonstrated by the “Stage 2” fender badge on the SRT Concept, 18-inch lightweight carbon fiber concept wheels Direct Connection, and perhaps more appealing, 305mm radial pull at all four corners. Remember, this EV sends power to all four wheels and we’re expecting some truly ridiculous measurements – four-digit horsepower levels? – from the upcoming production vehicle, this foreshadows.

Another unique feature of the Charger Daytona SRT Concept is the Fratzonic Chambered exhaust system. Dodge says all exhaust sounds are essentially caused by air movement, and the same kind of tuning done with the internal combustion can also be done with its EV. To help with moderation, Dodge is inviting attendees to their booth at SEMA to listen to different tunes, then rate and review them.
