Disabled cats help wrap Christmas presents
Most Christmas people have already started collecting presents for the big day. Part of receiving gifts includes wrapping them, which can become quite a challenge for some.
It takes time to cut the wrapping paper to the right size for each gift and top it with tape and a pretty bow or ribbon.
If you have cats or young children around trying to help, the task becomes much more difficult. Cats in particular make wrapping cakes a challenge. They love to pounce on paper and on ribbons.
Add a cat struggling with balance and things get even more interesting. Come in, Bert.
Bert lives in Quincy, Illinois with his employer, and he was diagnosed with a cerebellar insufficiency, which makes it difficult for him to balance or walk upright.
In a hilarious video, you can see Bert trying to help his owner wrap a gift. In typical feline fashion, he tries his best to put himself in the gift boxes and tries to grab the scissors as they cut the wrapping paper. He fell several times, losing his balance because of his condition.
The stumbling cat seems to have a good attitude when it falls and it jumps back and continues to try to be a helper. At the end of the video, he is even wrapped up as a gift!
Bert’s owner shared with ViralHog:
“Bert has a disability called cerebellar hypoplasia that causes him problems with balance and coordination. Because of his disability, he often topples over and has an odd gait. He has a very laid-back personality and enjoys being involved in everything we do. In this video, he is helping my daughter wrap Christmas presents. In the end, he will wrap himself up as a Christmas present.”
The video is so sweet and proves that animals with disabilities can live a full and happy life too.
