To move between locations, go to the Director menu and switch to the Destination tab. There you will see a map with various planets and locations on it. Your main center is an uncombined region called tower. It’s a place to buy items from vendors and get quests.
The core game of Fate 2 different depending on what you love. There are player-versus-player and co-op player battles compared to every other mission where you and your allies battle NPCs.
Crucible: This PVP mode is as simple as Life Okay. It’s a team match where the goal is to eliminate other players and capture territory. If you’re here to shoot other players in the face, this is where you’ll be.
In regular Crucible modes, the guardians’ power levels are balanced so that everyone has an almost even playing field. Iron banner, a variant of Crucible offered once a month, without that balance of power, so only the strongest survive. If you are brand new to the game, you will probably feel very weak.
Gambit: Combination of PVE and PVP modes. You will battle alien NPCs with your team while a competitive battle group does the same. At certain points, defenders from opposing teams can infiltrate the other party’s game and wreak havoc on the opponent.
Vanguard Strikes: These are repeatable, one-time missions you do with a group of three guardians. Missions are nested from story campaigns, so the plot and dialog can be a bit disjointed if you don’t already know. Night raids offer better rewards for completion, but they are harder and may require specific weapons to defeat enemies.
Story missions: If you want to play through the main storylines, you’ll need to pay for the expansions. Campaign expansions available first Witch Queen We Deny, Hold the balland Beyond the light. If you’re interested in the story, you’ll want to play them in that order. Just know that while Deny Considered by many to be one of the best expansions, it will be expanded on February 22 when Witch Queen launch. You can finish the campaign in less than 10 hours, but if you can’t make it by the 22nd, never mind.
A new feature coming soon with Witch Queen is a mission selector that allows you to replay your favorite campaign missions. You can even raise them up to a legendary difficulty level.
Even if you don’t care about the story, you might still want to play through Beyond the light campaign at some point in time. It sets up a lot of things to come Witch Queenand completing the campaign is the only way to unlock the Stasis subclass.
Millstone
Seasonal tickets: This is a limited time battle pass that allows you to unlock levels of rewards as you level up. These can earn you anything from crafting resources to advanced weapons and armor. It usually lasts a few weeks. Access to the season pass requires Silver, Destiny’s premium currency, which will cost real-world dollars to obtain. (There are some items you’ll unlock for free in the season pass, but they’re drop-boards.)
Bonus: These are daily or weekly challenges that reward you with some combination of experience, currency, and resources. Pick them up from vendors in the Tower or in free-roaming areas for specific quests for that area. Bonuses that give you experience will have “XP+” in the rewards. The more plus signs, the more experience you get. Some bonuses also give you Bright Dust, a currency that allows you to buy weekly cosmetic items that you would otherwise have to convert to real money. (Learn more about that in the Currency section below.)
Gear
Finally, we come to that sweet, sweet booty.
rarity
Any gear you find will be graded by quality: rare (blue), legendary (purple), or exotic (gold). Exotics are often the best, weapons and armor that enhance your abilities in interesting and varied ways. The downside is that you can only equip one exotic armor and one exotic weapon at a time, forcing you to choose which power-ups best suit your character and playstyle.
Main course of Life gear are legendary class items (indicated by their purple background). These properties spawn with random attributes that you can use by hovering over the item and clicking the Details button. If you don’t like the attributes on a particular reel, you can safely discard the weapon. Chances are you’ll find it again with different attributes.
