James Robinson Injury Update

Robinson tore Achilles ‘against the jet’, so his season is clearly over (and possibly part of next). This is a huge blow to Robinson owners heading into the final week of the fantasy season, so you might have to get creative to figure out how to replace him. Dare Ogunbowale is set to be the lead back to Jacksonville, but there’s plenty of risk surrounding him. He’s playing in New England in Week 17, so Jags’ offense should be stopped altogether. Would anyone be surprised by the closure? Ogunbowale made 17 hits against the Jet Force but only got 57 yards above ground (3.4YPC). The Jets are the most generous team on the fantasy RB, so that feels like one of his best-case scenarios. Also, we can’t know for sure if he’ll return as a working horse. He did it with a one-game sample, but with a full week of practice, it’s likely Jacksonville will incorporate others into the mix.

In the end, we do looking forward he handles the majority of RB touches, but he’ll likely need to catch a lot of passes to really get off to a head start in fantasy championship matches. We rank him as a low-end RB3. There are broad recipients who have a better imaginary prospect of waivers, so go with them in a flexible position. Of course, you might have to play Ogunbowale at RB – just know his floors are barely existent and his ceilings are limited. A cheap one-foot touch is all you can really hope for.

WEEK 17 STANDARD ASSESSMENT:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker

Miles Sanders Injury Update

UPDATE: Nick Sirianni says Sanders (broken arm) won’t be playing in Week 17 against Washington.

Sanders will check his broken hand this weekend to see if he gets worse or if he can play through the injury. Sanders has been looking better since returning from a knee injury, so those with the imagination will be eager to see if he can take on Washington in Week 17. In Week 15 against Washington, Sanders handled a total of 20 touchdowns and a total of 146 yards, so he has proven to be effective against Washington’s defence. If he plays, you’re starting him, so watch out.

Had he not played, Jordan Howard would have been the best choice in the standard league, but he was also facing injury (see below). If both Sanders and Howard are absent, Boston Scott makes for a super attractive versatile pick and is sure to handle plenty of times. Currently, we consider Sanders a low-level RB2, but his ceiling is much higher than the Eagles’ pounding attack. If he were out, Howard could be in the same standard range, while Scott would be in that neighborhood in PPR.

WEEK 17 PPR RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker

Clyde Edwards-Helaire injury update

UPDATE: Edwards-Helaire did not suffer any structural damage and should “back shortly“After his bump subsided, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He still doesn’t appear to be playing at Week 17, but we’ll have to see the practice reports.

Edward-Helaire is believed to have broken his collarbone, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports X-ray of Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s collarbone injury was negative. That said, his Week 17 status could still be maintained, so we’ll have to see what happens later in the Week.

Cincinnati is just a neutral opponent for RB, so we consider CEH a low-end RB2 if he does play. If his touches were limited, his deck could certainly be much lower. If he does go out, Darrel Williams will become a low-level RB2, and Derrick Gore will be a deep-league versatile pick best suited for standard tournaments.

Darrell Henderson Injury Update

UPDATE: Henderson sprained the MCL and was admitted to IR.

Rams are reported I hope Henderson just sprained his knee, but the tests over the weekend will tell us more about his condition leading up to the game against Raven. While the defense in Baltimore has been terrible, it still ranks as a top 12 defense against fantasy RBs, and it seems pretty clear Sony Michel is now the lead back in LA. The roles are reversed here, so Henderson is unplayable, except in very deep leagues if someone is tied up at RB. It’s unfortunate for those who played high on Henderson’s flank earlier in the year, but that’s the reality of the situation.

At this point, Henderson is no longer seen as a pipe choice. His presence will only slightly lower Michel’s ceiling, who remains a solid playmaker regardless.

Jordan Howard injury update

UPDATE: Nick Sirianni says he “hopes” Howard can play in Week 17 against Washington.

Howard leaving the game against the Giants with what is called a nib, so for now, we’re not worried about his availability in Week 17. As mentioned earlier, Washington’s defense is not at all bright, and even though they are just was a neutral match for RB in theory, but they were much worse late in the game. Philly’s ground attack is thriving, and Washington’s defenses at all three levels are looking fierce.

If Miles Sanders (see above) were absent, Howard would turn out to be a very compelling play and sit at the edge of a must-start option. He should handle most of the goalkeeping work, but we know the Eagles don’t mind putting any of their RBs in there for that task. He may disappoint in the PPR tournaments, but he should pay off your fantasy title hopes in the standard tournaments as a low-level RB2. If Sanders competes, he can only start in the deeper leagues.
