Netflix has released the final season for die with me November 17 reveals bittersweet ending for best friends Judy (Linda Cardellini) and Jen (Christina Apple). While the duo did not take action for the murder of Steve (James Marsden), Judy’s ex-criminal fiance, they don’t necessarily have a happily ever after.

Why? Well, because Judy battled stage four cervical cancer in the series finale.

This is especially devastating for Jen, who wants her BFF to battle cancer until the very end. Alas, Judy had other plans, wanting to end things on her own terms.

“I had the best time with you,” Judy told Jen the night before taking off in Mexico to die alone. “You have filled the hole in my heart.”

While this ending has been teasing for Judy since she received her diagnosis, a small part of us hopes that she will beat this. So if we didn’t cry before, we sure crying now.
