Next year’s free game on the Epic Games Store will be a big one: Dead by daylight. I was struck by the multiplayer 1v4 horror game, watching it slowly grow into one of Steam’s most popular games after a while, it seemed like it could slide a way, so that’s a great thing. But before that, Epic is now giving away a completely different method of slaughter, the hunting sim TheHunter: Call Of The Wild. You know, you can skip the gun and just play it as a very nice walking simulator.
You have until 4pm next Thursday (8am Pacific) to grab a free copy of TheHunter: Call Of The Wild as a memento from Epic Games Store. Usually costs £20. It’s made by Expansive Worlds, a fork of the Just Cause Avalanche developers, and it’s a beautiful tool.
Certainly, Thunter’s intended goal is to track wild animal simulator then kill them all, but you can’t do that either. You can follow the wildlife and then admire it through binoculars until it leaves or you are satisfied, then go see some better scenery or find another animal to admire. When Thunter launches on Thursday, December 2, Dead By Daylight will become the new free-to-player.
