Darley’s Maxfield to Argentina


Maxfield a double 1st grade winner standing in Darley at Jonabell in Central Kentucky, will this year shuttle to Haras Firmamento for the Southern Hemisphere breeding season in Argentina, Darley announced May 24.

6 year old son of street feeling who won the Breeders’ Futurity (G1) 2019 at Keeneland and seven other races in an 11-race career where he’s raked in more than $2 million, taking the course in 2022 at Darley after a 2021 capped win at Clark Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs. Between those top-level wins, he won four more classified races, including Alysheba Stakes (G2) and Stephen Foster Stakes (G2), both at Churchill Downs. He also finished second in Woodward Stakes (G1) and Whitney Stakes (G1) in New York.

He bred 163 mares in 2022 and stood this year for an advertised fee of $40,000 at Darley.

“We are delighted with what we are seeing from Maxfield’s first breeding this year and are delighted to be able to partner with such a prestigious breeder as Haras Firmamento,” said Darren Fox, sales manager. Darley’s shop said.

Stall fees at Haras Firmamento are not disclosed.
