Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a touching new photo of him holding his newborn daughter, less than two weeks after her twin brother passed away.
The Manchester United forward and his partner Georgina Rodriguez, 28, have announced their son died on April 18but his twin sister survived.
The 37-year-old, who already has a four-year-old daughter with Ms. Rodriguez, as well as three other children, has now posted a black and white photo on Instagram of him topless as he cuddles with the baby.
The photo is accompanied by the caption “Love Forever” and also has a love heart emoji.
The baby was seen wearing a cute knitted hat, prompting many of Ronaldo’s followers to respond with red love hearts.
Couples have have not revealed their names to their young daughter yet.
Last October, they shared that they were expecting twins in a video featuring their other children.
However, earlier this month, they said they were “deeply saddened” by their son’s passing, calling it “the greatest pain any parent can feel”.
They said at the time: “We are deeply saddened to announce that our baby boy has passed away.
“It is the biggest pain any parent can feel.
“Only the birth of a baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with a little hope and happiness.
“We want to thank the doctors and nurses for the care and support of all their professionals.
“We are all traumatized by this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.
“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
The player who missed Man United’s midweek game against Liverpool last week, this has seen Anfield fans gave a moment of applause for Ronaldo and his family.
They also sang “You’re Never Walk Alone”.
Manchester United’s Instagram account also posted a message of support, saying: “Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and your family at this time.”
