It’s like the eighth generation escort ship new, but it’s been three years since the mid-engine emblem landed. Since then, we’ve seen Z06 and E-Ray variants, but rumor the factory stirred about the ninth generation car (C9), which GM agency said it is expected to launch in 2029.
The publication’s sources say the C9 Corvette will launch in 2028 as a 2029 model. GMThe Ultium platform is going strong under several new EVs, but the C9 won’t move to an electrified architecture. Instead, it will receive a modified version of the Y2 platform from the current car. Production will continue in Corvette’s hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Interestingly, C9 won’t share much with Corvette EV and SUV rumors, is expected to appear as an electric vehicle. The next generation Corvette will continue with an internal combustion engine. That moment, Chevy there are a few other variations planned for the Corvette, GM agency outline as higher performance models.
A Corvette ZR1 is expected to arrive in the next few years with a twin-turbo V8 and up to 850 horsepower. The fourth variant will be the Corvette Zora which will be built on the ZR1’s twin-turbo powertrain with mixture power. GM agency note Zora is the final C8 variant, so it will be interesting to see what Chevy does with the platform.
The Corvette sub-brand is expected to launch in 2025. GM boss Mark Reuss hinted at Vehicles based on Ultiumthe first of which will be a sedan and a Cross each other. There is little information other than a report with speculation about the vehicle’s output. The performance EVs are said to carry 800-volt architecture, a two-speed transmission, four-wheel drive and torque vectoring. If they retain any spirit of the actual Corvette, the new models may succeed. Ford made a similar move with Mustang Mach-Eand after the initial frenzy died down, people realized that it was a legitimate medium of performance in its own right.
