Scientists from the United States recently discovered some fascinating facts about the formation of the Earth’s core. According to reports, the solid inner core of the Earth was formed about 550 million years ago, causing a sharp increase in the number of multicellular organisms living on our planet. According to the report of Guardians, there is a giant sphere nearly 2 thousand km in diameter at the center of the Earth. This sphere, known as the inner core, played an important role in the evolution of life on earth. This layer consists of iron and then the outer core, followed by the mantle, and on top of that is the crust.
According to scientists, the growing inner core of the planet is slowing down by about 1 mm per year. Initially, the core is liquid and hot, but it begins to cool and harden. The inner core rotates and creates a strong magnetic field around the earth to protect our planet from harmful solar and cosmic radiation that allows life to exist.
Scientists from the University of Rochester (New York, USA) after conducting research have suggested that the appearance of a solid inner core is very important for the development of life on Earth. The report says that nearly 550 years ago, Earth’s magnetic field decreased by 10% of its current magnetic field strength and regained its strength suddenly leading to the sudden rise of complex multicellular life on earth. This process is known as the Cambrian explosion on Earth. All of this is recorded in fossil finds. John Tarduno of the University of Rochester calls the process an “explosion” in the evolution of life on the planet.
