Doug McIntyre’s prediction on the tournament winner

“It will not be easy for Argentina to repeat Spain’s feat at the beginning of this century and sandwich their World Cup title between a pair of continental crowns. Albiceleste is more than capable of doing that, despite Lionel Messi turning 37 four days after his country kicked off the 16-team tournament, and despite the stiff challenge they are likely to face from a Uruguay team recently made Messi & Co. First loss since then. become world champion.

“Another reason why Argentina are the favourites? Brazil, who Argentina beat to win the Copa América in 2021, are in terrible form with USA 2024 less than six months away.”

PICK: Argentina (+200 at time of pick) to win Copa América 2024

McIntyre’s insight on the USMNT Group C matches

USMNT vs Bolivia, June 23, Arlington, Texas

“There will still be significant pressure on the US to bring the curtain down on this summit. Dallas Cowboys’ home yard. If coach Gregg Berhalter’s team gets less than 3 points, the second match will become a must-win match before the final against Uruguay.”

USMNT vs Panama, June 27, Atlanta

“In front of a crowd that could support the USMNT in Atlanta, the 12th-ranked U.S. team could theoretically face FIFA’s No. 41 team. In fact, Los Canaleros for many years has been a thorn in the side of the Americans, especially in tournaments.

“While the USMNT holds an all-time 17W-2L-7T advantage, Panama defeated the US in the last World Cup qualifiers. They have also eliminated the hosts from 2 of the last 5 Gold Cups, including this year 2023.”

USMNT vs Uruguay, July 1, Kansas City, Mo.

“The USMNT has to wait until the final match in Group C to face one of the strongest teams in South America. Uruguay certainly is. La Celeste has been revealed under new coach Marcelo Bielsa, who took over after Uruguay’s disappointing performance at last year’s World Cup.

“Last month, Balsa’s team handed Argentina a 2-0 loss in a World Cup qualifier at the famous Bombonera Stadium in Buenos Aires – Messi & Co.’s first defeat. as world champion.”
