Early opening of the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP 27 / CMP 17 / CMA 4
Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt Arab RepublicOn 24 May 2022, the Office of the Conference of the Parties (COP), the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP), and the Conference of the Parties as the meeting of the Parties. Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA) met to consider the proposal of the incoming President of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Sharm el-Sheikh to conduct the opening of the conference to provide more information. Time allows Heads of State and Government to engage with to build political support to increase climate action and support while allowing work to move forward.
I notify the Parties and Observer States of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, United Nations organizations, and intergovernmental organizations. and non-governmental recognized as observers that COP 27, CMP 17 and CMA 4 will open on Sunday, 6 November 2022, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egyptian Arab Republic. Therefore, the revised dates of the conference are 6 – 18 November 2022.
The Secretariat liaises with the host country regarding the logistical arrangements for the sessions related to the new opening date, including preliminary and preparatory meetings to be held prior to the conference.
