Conner Kelsall won the Commonwealth title after a 12-round decision over Conor Quinn in Belfast


Conner Kelsall stunned the Belfast crowd by defeating his hometown fighter Conor Quinn through a majority decision on Friday night at the SSE Arena.

Kelsall read the distance well over the 12 rounds, choosing when to attack and when to stay away. His style kept Quinn off his feet and pinned him down.

‘King’ Conner won the vacant Commonwealth flyweight title by scores of 116-112 and 115-113, along with a draw of 114-114.

Kelsall improved to 12-0 (1), while Conor Quinn fell to 9-1-1 (6)

of Dublin Pierce O’Leary Irish-Australian people were widely criticized Darragh Foley in the main event. Pierce successfully defended his WBC International super lightweight title for the fourth time. The judges scored him a unanimous decision with scores of 98-91 (twice) and 99-90.

Up 15-0 (8 KOs), O’Leary dropped his opponent in round two with a sharp right uppercut. Foley always threw back, but it wasn’t enough, as he fell to 22-6-1 (11 KOs).
