Live update of CWG 2022 men’s hockey semi-final, IND vs SA: India led South Africa by 3 to 1 goal in the third half in the men’s hockey semi-finals underway at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. After a goalless first quarter, India scored twice in the second quarter. Abhishek opened the scoring before Mandeep Singh made it 2-0 after a solo strike. Ryan Julius brought South Africa back into the game after scoring from the penalty spot. Prior to that, India had most of the possession but failed to take the lead in the first quarter. India remains unbeaten in the tournament so far, recording three wins and a draw. On the other hand, South Africa recorded two wins and a draw and a loss. Under the current scenario, Manpreet Singh leading will be the overwhelming candidate against world number 13 South Africa. India topped Group B while South Africa finished the group stage campaign in second place. The winner of the semi-final will face the winner of the other semi-final, which will be played between Australia and England. The losers of both matches will be determined in a bronze medal match.
