College football polls: Top 25 AP updates, Coach Poll rankings after Week 11
The picture for the College Soccer League turned more cloudy on Saturday, even though only one team out of 10 lost.
But Oklahoma’s defeat at the hands of Baylor now creates a potential minefield for the selection panel to navigate through the rest of the season. The Sooners, which ranked eighth in both of the first two CFP polls, had trouble as far as the eye test was concerned. But at least the Sooners could be one of two undefeated Power 5 grand prix champions. With a 27-14 loss to the Bears, the committee could be forced to disqualify two of the six teams following the weekend’s conference championship:

- 12-1 SEC Champion Alabama
- 12-1 Georgia
- 12-1 Big 12 Champion Oklahoma / Oklahoma State
- 12-1 wins the Pac-12 Oregon
- 12-1 Big Ten Champion
- AAC 13-0 Champion Cincinnati
Who did the committee remove from that list? In terms of history with the Group of 5, Cincinnati may be one of the unlucky teams to be knocked out of the ring. And, based on the committee’s treatment of the Sooners so far, they might as well be left in the cold. That’s to say nothing of Oklahoma State, which could also challenge the Big 12 champion to a loss.
Also, college football had a relatively normal weekend: Each of the other top 10 teams won on Saturday, while the only ranked teams lost to the other top 10 teams. other top 25. 11th place Texas A&M dropped 29-19 to 15th Ole Miss, potentially knocking them out of the SEC championship game; No. 19 Purdue lost 59-31 to No. 4 Ohio State; and State No. 16 NC lost 45-42 to No. 12 Wake Forest.
How will those losses affect the AP Top 25 rankings and the latest Coach poll?
