If we can’t warm little Adoo quickly, he’ll die of cold.
Somehow he got wet and his body went into hypothermia – a life-threatening condition that affects the heart and other organs. We took him to the hospital and infused him with hot water in an IV saline drip, and placed him in a nest of hot water bottles and human blankets and arms. But all we could do was wait and see if his little body would respond to the outside warmth. Only blankets can’t do the job. Come the next morning, we meet a new little guy – his eyes sparkle and he even feeds himself!
We kept him with us for a few days as a precaution and returned him to his mother.
