Cold and Snow are coming in the Pacific Northwest. My New Podcast Story
A late February cold accompanied by snow is coming to the area, and my new podcast provides details.
The cause of the cold is an upper high pressure trough (low pressure area) that will move south along the eastern flank of the giant northeastern Pacific high pressure trough.

Western Washington will initially be too warm for snow, but the mountains will see plenty of snowfall (see total snowfall through 10 p.m. Sunday)
But as I describe in the podcast, there’s a chance of snowfall in western Washington on Monday, as the Puget Sound Convergence forms south of Everett (see total snowfall through 4 p.m. Monday). Some snow is also possible northeast of the Games (e.g. around Sequim) as northeasterly flows moving out of the Fraser River valley are forced up by the terrain.
Total snowfall until 4pm on Monday

And I will provide a snow update in a blog on Sunday.
