CNN denies Andy Cohen sacking report after drunk performance NYE
CNN has denied reports that Andy Cohen will not be returning for next year’s NYE celebrations following his drunken performance this year.
“Andy said something he shouldn’t have on live television. We’ve worked this out with him and look forward to seeing him again next year,” CNN told E! News in a statement.
Cohen hosted a number of people including NY Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“The only thing Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a terrible mayor he was. So lousy sayonara! 2022! It’s a new year, because guess what? I have a feeling I’ll be standing right here next year, and you know I won’t be looking at anyone, dancing as the city falls apart? You!”
He also roasted Ryan Seacrest but later apologized.
“The only thing that I regret saying, the only thing is that I shut down the ABC broadcast and I really like Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy and I really regret that say it,” Cohen said Monday. “And I’m stupid and drunk and feel it. And it’s… I’m on a journey and I just keep saying and I shouldn’t, and I… I feel bad about it. So that’s the only thing. It’s the only thing.”
