I called BS. I have no doubt Xi Jinping’s administration told the IEA that this was the plan, but Xi Jinping nearly crashed China’s economy late last year when he tried to turn off coal, track from Xi’s catastrophic gas conversion directive, caused millions of people to suffer during the winter of 2018 without indoor heating. So I can’t help but feel that getting in touch with Mr. Xi’s reality is a bit difficult, when it comes to energy planning.
