Chevrolet will unveil an electric version of the popular Silverado pickup at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), but motorists will need patience before they can get behind the wheel. According to the company, production will not begin until 2023.
Doug Parks, executive vice president of global manufacturing development at Synthetic engine, confirmed that the first examples of the Silverado EV are not scheduled to start rolling off the assembly line until early 2023, according to Muscle cars & trucks. Chevrolet has has been confirmed that production would take place at the Factory Zero plant in suburban Detroit, formerly known as Detroit-Hamtramck, until 2020. The facility has received a complete renovation for construction electric truck, including GMC pickup and SUV variants Hummer.
Parks has stopped disclosing specs, but we already have a good idea of what to expect. Like GMC Hummer EV, Silverado EV (probably called Silverado E) will go on B1T architecture and it will be powered by Ultium the battery technology that General Motors developed in-house. However, unlike the Hummer, it will be marketed more focused on work vans than one with a big focus on adventure and going off-road. GMC will receive its own version of the truck, which will be included in the Sierra lineup.

Details about the electric Chevrolet Silverado will emerge in the coming weeks, and we’ll see the pickup for the first time at CES 2022, which opens on January 5.
