Canelo Alvarez is known to be screening through an offer to face Gennadiy Golovkin, Jermall Charlo and Dmitry Bivol

Canelo Alvarez is a wanted man.
As first reported by ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, Alvarez has been offered a one-on-one deal by PBC’s Al Haymon, which will face WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo on May 7, Cinco De Mayo weekend.
In addition to that offer, rival promoter Eddie Hearn also offered Alvarez a two-on-one deal. The first bout of this deal will be a bout against WBA heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. Provided that Alvarez exits their competition victoriously, the Mexican star will then face longtime rival Gennadiy Golovkin.
While both promoters wanted a response sooner rather than later, Alvarez seemed able to take his time before making his decision. After a hugely successful 2021 that saw the pound-by-pound star enter the ring on three separate occasions and win every world title at 168 pounds, Alvarez revealed that his strong 2021 schedule he influenced him. As a result, the Mexican product revealed that he will likely be sidelined until early May.
In Charlo, the prestigious 160-pound athlete has been yearning to face boxing’s biggest star for years. In a lone appearance in 2021, Charlo beat Juan Macias Montiel harder than expected. Although the Houstonian has proudly defended his WBC middleweight title on four separate occasions, he has repeatedly stated that he will have no problem putting on weight to face Alvarez. .
Like Charlo, Bivol also expressed a desire to confront Alvarez. Although he’s at 175 pounds, Alvarez is already a light heavyweight champion after his 11th round win over former WBO champion Sergey Kovalev in 2019.
The Russian-born player recently ended his inactivity for 2021, winning matches against Craigs Richards and Umar Salamov.
Despite the eagerness of both Charlo and Bivol to face Alvarez, Golovkin knows well what it feels like to want to share the ring with the Mexican star.
In September 2017, both Alvarez and Golovkin were engaged in a back-and-forth fight. While their contest produces fireworks, the draw to decide their split leaves neither of them satisfied. A year later, Alvarez won a close and controversial victory.
At 39 years old, Golovkin seems to be on the decline of his career. However, the future Hall of Famer was reeling with two consecutive wins over Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Kamil Szeremeta.
The current IBF middleweight champion is patiently awaiting a future date to meet WBA champion Ryota Murata. The two were originally scheduled to go head to head in late December 2021 but were forced to cancel those plans due to a travel ban implemented in Murata’s hometown of Japan. According to promoter Eddie Hearn, he expects them to be complete at some point in the first half of this year.
