Canada mass stabbing case: A suspect in the attack that killed 10 people is found but his brother is still big | World News
A man suspected of killing 10 people in a mass stabbing in Canada has been found dead – with non-self-inflicted wounds.
Damien Sanderson was spotted on the James Smith Cree Nation, where several attacks took place.
Detectives said at a news conference: “His body was lying outdoors in a grassy area close to a house being examined. We can confirm that he has sustained injuries. visible”.
Police are still looking for Myles, 31-year-old brother. He is also a suspect – and detectives warn he is armed and a danger to the public.
Officials are investigating whether Myles killed his brother, but cannot say for sure if this was the case. They were also unsure of the exact cause of Damien’s death.
Myles is believed to be in Regina – the capital of Saskatchewan – about 210 miles from the site of the stabbing.
Officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police also suggested he may have been injured and could attempt to seek medical attention.
Commanding officer Rhonda Blackmore warned: “Even if he’s injured, that doesn’t mean he’s not dangerous.
“Myles has a long criminal record involving both people and property crimes.
“We consider him armed and dangerous. Don’t go near him. If you know his whereabouts, call 911.”
Myles Sanderson has been “generally illegitimate” since May, when a local Crimestoppers appeal was filed to trace him.
He served nearly five years for crimes including assault and robbery and was pardoned but then disappeared, according to CBC News.
Police across Canada’s three vast prairie provinces – Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta – were on alert, along with US border officials. A manhunt involving hundreds of officers continues.

The stabbing, which left 18 people injured, was one of the deadliest mass murders in Canadian history.
Authorities said some victims were targeted and others appeared to be randomly selected on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the town of Weldon.
The victims included a mother of two, a 77-year-old widow and first responder.
One woman who lost a loved one in the attack said: “Nobody in this town can sleep again. They will be scared when they open the door.”
Another criminal, said to be particularly unusual in the area, added: “Even when I got to town, I didn’t lock the door. But now I have to find the keys to my house. I’ve never locked the door. and nobody. was around until this happened.”

Trudeau urges Canadians to ‘be careful’
No motive was suggested – but Bobby Cameron, head of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous States, told The Associated Press the stabbings could be drug-related.
“This is the devastation we face when harmful illegal drugs enter our communities, and we ask all authorities to take the lead from those who need it,” he said. leaders, councils and their members to create safer and healthier communities for our people.”
In a televised statement, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau described the stabbing as “shocking and heartbreaking”.
He added: “This kind of violence, or any form of violence, has no place in our country.
