Can we make an electric guitar out of concrete? How will it sound? (Video)


Electric guitar and acoustic guitar very different. Of course, there exists the combination of bothbut a very basic electric guitar has a sturdy body (no vibrating body), plus electrical receivers – a type of signal transducer – used to pick up mechanical vibration of the chain.

This relatively simple construction principle means that you can manufacture the body of an electric guitar from basically any readily available material. So, how about a guitar made from concrete? Does it work, what about its sound quality?

Such an experiment was actually done in real life by a youtuber who built a Strat-style guitar out of ordinary concrete. Of course, this is not the best material for making musical instruments, because you simply have to have enough muscle to hold it firmly in your hand. But the fact is that this prototype works, and the sound quality isn’t bad at all. Watch the full production and test run of the final model in the video below:
