Can-Am Ryker recalled for breakable handlebars
BRP is recalling 9,353 Can-Am Ryker 2022 because the handlebars of the tricycle may break during operation.
If you don’t mind puns, the problem stems from the handlebar body bolts used to connect the handlebars to the front end of the motorcycle, as these bolts may not have enough thread length to secure the handlebars. exactly.
According to the recall documents, the handlebar body bolts did not have a sufficient thread length to account for all the necessary tolerances for the assembly.
The documents also mention that such debris may be present in the steering columns which could interfere with proper assembly. This assembly is performed by dealers during pre-shipment preparation.
Owners of Can-Am Ryker are advised not to ride their motorcycles until repairs are complete.
To fix the problem, a Can-Am dealer will clean the thread of the steering column and install a new steering column bolt for free. The owner’s notice letter is expected to be mailed on July 27, 2022.
Interested Ryker owners can contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222. The BRP number for this recall is 2022-16. As always, NHTSA is available at 1-888-327-4236 and safecar.gov.
