Burberry has the famous cape. Louis Vuitton has its iconic baggage. And Max Mara has a very recognizable Teddy jacket. Though available in a variety of colors, the brown version is especially sought after by the fashion elite—it keeps popping up in street style photos year after year. While I’m a huge fan of the Italian luxury brand, it’s undeniable that most shoppers can’t approach the $4000 price point.
That’s where Mango comes in: The brand just launched a $199 jacket that reminds me of Max Mara’s Teddy Jacket. Importantly, I don’t consider this a cheesy knockoff, but a jacket with a similar design but with different details. As you can see in the photos, the Mango version is made of shaggy, more furry material while the Max Mara version has a more traditional sherpa look.
