Bruce Arians tore the Buccaneers net after painful loss to Washington: ‘We were a very stupid team’

The Buccaneers were prioritized for a big win over the Washington Soccer Team in Week 10. Instead, they lost their second straight game 29-19.

Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians couldn’t hold back the criticism after the loss. The veteran coach ripped through the entire team’s performance, blaming both the players and the coach for the lack of discipline and energy in the game.

Arians said in a press conference: “It has nothing to do with ability ESPN. “It’s about execution and being a smart team. We’re a very stupid team. And that’s a reflection of the coaches.”

Buccaneers out of the gate flat despite saying goodbye last week. Arians weren’t pleased with the effort and energy generated during the game, but the Bucs’ penalties were a bigger problem for the team, in his opinion.

“Energy and passion are very repairable,” says Arians. “The penalties – they’ve got to be fixed sooner or later. The first playthrough of the game – they turn and we jump out. They don’t even run a turn and we jump. Stupidity. will disappear if we’re going anywhere.”

Tampa Bay committed six penalties that resulted in Washington committing a 43-foot offense. In contrast, Washington committed only three penalties, even though they amounted to 33 yards.

The Buccaneers also lost the revenue battle. Tom Brady threw two interceptions while Washington’s receiver Dax Milne lost one snoop. Arians criticized Brady’s two picks, blaming the midfielder.

“It has nothing to do with the receiver. It’s him,” Arians said.

The most damnable is probably the time of the battle of possession. Washington made 71 plays and holds the ball in a time of 39:08. That included a 10-minute Q4 beat to help end its win. The Buccaneers only played a total of 47 plays in 20:52 possession time.

The Buccaneers are now just sitting at 6-3 after their second straight loss. They still lead the NFC South by a game over the Saints, but they have the fewest errors and have fallen behind teams including the Cardinals, Rams and Cowboys in the race for the No.

“It was disappointing,” Arians said of Tampa Bay’s performance. “It’s alarming to watch the energy at each training session and show up with the lack of practice and the energy it takes to win on Sunday. We had to find a lot of soul to do.”
