Bronx fire: 3 firefighters among 8 hurt as flames burn through apartment building in Van Cortlandt Village


VAN CORTLANDT VILLAGE, Bronx (WABC) — Hearth officers say three firefighters are amongst eight individuals who have been injured in a multi-alarm condo fireplace within the Bronx.

The blaze broke out round 4:12 a.m. Thursday at a constructing within the 100 block of Van Cortlandt Avenue West in Van Cortlandt Village.

Video from the Citizen app confirmed fireplace taking pictures from the roof of the 6-story constructing.

Amongst roughly 150 firefighters who responded, a number of have been seen serving to various residents to security.

A complete of eight individuals have been being handled for accidents.

5 residents have been being evaluated on the scene for accidents described as non-life-threatening.

Three firefighters have been taken to space hospitals to be handled for minor accidents.

There was no quick phrase what sparked the hearth.
