BSB statement on the passing of Chrissy Rouse

After an accident during the three Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Donington Park (on Sunday, October 2, 2022), rival Chrissy Rouse suffered a severe fall in the opening lap of the race and was unable to avoid a collision. by a racer soon after. He suffered a significant head injury.

The race was stopped and he was immediately treated by the BSB Medical Team before being transported to the vascular medical center.

He was stabilized and placed in a coma at the medical center before being transferred to Queens Medical Center/University Hospital, Nottingham for further evaluation and treatment.

Rouse underwent an emergency neurosurgery procedure shortly after admission.

We are deeply saddened to announce that Chrissy Rouse, 26, from Newcastle upon Tyne, succumbed to her trauma and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in hospital this afternoon. Thursday.

On behalf of the Chrissy family, they would like to extend their sincere thanks for the support and well wishes they have received over the past few days.

They would also like to thank all the police and medical services in attendance who provided such skill and care to Chrissy. The family also asks for privacy at this difficult time as they try to deal with their devastating loss.

MSVR is currently working with Coroner, Police and the Motorcycle Races Control Board to investigate the full circumstances of this tragic accident.
