Bramich wins tight trilogy to win ASBK SS Race Two
ASBK 2022 – Round 6 – Phillip Island
Tom Bramich once again took advantage of his post to lead John Lytras through turn one but the championship lead overtook him and led the race on the run to turn four.
However, Bramich hit him back and returned to the lead when both Ty Lynch and Dallas Skeer fell at the age of ten after the clash. It will be an expensive DNF for Lynch in the chase for the Michelin Supersport title, especially if Lytras takes all the points here this afternoon.
Tom Bramich continued to lead the Lytras around the Phillip Island Circuit but Jack Passfield stopped them as the race neared the halfway point and there was almost nothing to separate that lead trio, and they took the lead, Scott Nicholson is in fourth place more than ten-seconds behind.
Passfield moved up to second place with four laps and then in that same lap led Bramich. Tom soon returned to him in the next round to take the lead, but Passfield then outplayed him in the fourth round. The next round, he tried to hold Bramich in turn one to keep his lead, but there was still nothing to separate that trio ahead.
Tom Bramich soon took the lead in the final lap, but Passfield overtook him in the fourth round after Bramich left the door open. Lytras is still in third place.
Passfield had a great drive past Hayshed but then ran too deep in front of MG Hairpin and left the door open for Bramich to take the lead. Passfield recovered to lead Lytras but the race victory went to Tom Bramich, less than a tenth of a second past the top three.
The best of the rest was fourth-place Scott Nicholson, who crossed the line 15 seconds behind the podium finishers at the end of the ten lap race.
With no points for Lynch after this encounter, John Lytras extended his championship score against the South Australian to 23.5.
